Unframed.

This painting began as an achromatic painting. As I worked on the composition the painting called for color which is blended wet on wet. There is an interest in line quality, modeling of form, and value relationships. In many of my paintings imagery gives way to abstraction but with this one it was important for me to keep the figurative form.
