This intimate painting’s subject is a person driving and was gesturally executed on a wet surface. There’s a focus on varying scale of marks with an intent to develop the range of transparency to opaqueness. The title is derived from the leisurely approach folks of my youth would take when driving in the country. Stuck in the back seat on some of these excursions an appreciation for the Midwest landscape may have been birthed.
