Despite the abstracted nature of this painting, I see it as figurative. Three figures dressed in heavy robes or cloaks. The white figure holding the spike stands in the foreground while the two black figures linger just behind. Are they dressed in black or simply in the shadows? Marks were made on a wet surface by scratching, painting, and bleeding.
