There’s a push and pull of figure ground in this intimate painting. What is pulled forward and pushed back is up to the viewer. The title refers to being open minded to changes in color and shapes, contours, orientation, leaving the original subject for something different. It’s okay when things don’t work out. Staying free of any artistic restraints is important to the process.
