The California Dreamin’ subjects are taken from photographs shot on trips romanticizing the natural forms of Southern California while utilizing the Green, Orange, and Purple Triad. The title suggests a transformation process in nature which the green dominated composition evokes. There is a metamorphosis occurring in my painting and this one is a prime example, showing a shift in how I treat subject matter, color, and spatial relationships.
